The Grand Forks - East Grand Forks MPO and UND have teamed up in evaluating transit services throughout the region by extending the scope of work for the transit plan to include the UND Shuttle service. The scope of work for the extended analysis includes:
- Document current ridership, travel patterns, vehicles, schedules and cost of the on campus transit system.
- Assess the productivity of subsegments of the four routes that make up the university system.
- Identify and work with UND, the MPO, and the transit department to evaluate the need for and feasibility of short and longer term modifications to the shuttle service.
- Develop recommendations for future system configuration, costs of any changes in service and an implementation schedule. Projects will be divided into those that are feasible/worthwhile to implement Fall 2011 and those that will need more time to develop and implement.
Meetings with the project steering committee are being held the week of June 20 and again the week of July 18. Preliminary findings/recommendations will be presented during the week of July 18. Updates will be added to the webpage.
